Mirror, mirror on the wall...

I love how this mirror experiment turned out,
but wow is it hard to take pictures of a mirror!
I bought this mirror many years ago at the ReUse Center in South Minneapolis.
Poor Peter cringed everytime I made him move it, and if he'd had his way it would have been in the trash a long time ago!

I took some sandpaper and removed the back side of the mirror in spots to give in a weathered antique look.
Then, I found some fabric I love- this is a table cloth I got on clearance from Target,
and ModPodged it to the back side.
I still need to find a funky frame for it and spray paint the frame- Mustard or Turquoise???

I love the birds and the way the mirror peaks in and out-

Maybe when I find the right frame I'll try taking another round of pictures.  Any hints?

Jute Vase

Kai and I pulled out some of the Fall decor for the house today and ended up doing a quick little project out of necessity.

I have some grassy fall greenery (it's really orangery???) that needed a vase and a mason jar seemed to be the right size.  But I didn't like the stem showing, so out came the Jute!
I love jute.

I started wrapping the jar with jute and used hot glue to "tack" it in place.

I got about a third of the way down and decided to try something different.
One circle down...

 a few more...

the bottom in place...

done.

oh, it still
needs to be inspected.

I think it passed!
I'm going to go nurse my hot glue gun wounds.

Welcome to Tomato Heaven

TOMATOES EVERYWHERE!

My little helper these days... oiling the pan to make tomato sauce!

Spreading the tomatoes out in a single layer.  We learned what single layer means today ; )
And yes, that's a fruit fly trap on my counter.  Tomatoes and fruit flies go together like PB&J.

Some onion, a garlic bulb wrapped in foil, and salt and pepper...

Finishing touches

All done and ready to be pureed and frozen.
Can't wait to pull this out in the middle of January- yum!

Don't forget to do the dishes!

Painting!

Today we had to paint.  It was required- by Leif.
Who am I to argue with that?

Those would be sunflowers. and a cat. and grandma.

COLOR!

Beautiful, huh?!  I sure think so.

Tractor Tune Ups

The tractors at our house work very hard all summer.

This is about the time of year it's time to think about moving it inside...

Which means it's time for a tractor wash.

Good bye Summer.
Welcome Fall!

Easy Peasy Clipboards

Um, I have a confession.  I'm slightly obsessed with this stuff.

I found a couple of old clipboards stuffed in a drawer, and they were calling out to be made over.  Mod Podge and some fun scrapbook paper made it a quick and easy project.

Had to do some binder clips to coordinate... which led to me making 50 mini binder clips for my MOPS group.  It was fun.  Really, it was.  I know- I have issues.

This Boy...

This boy started Kindergarten last week!  I catch myself looking at him and thinking, "When did he get so grown up?!"  He has a wonderful teacher and is adjusting pretty well to the new routine, considering he is my homebody.

This boy missed him all day but had fun being momma's right hand man.  So as soon as Leif came home, they had their standard greeting.

And a couple boy hugs.

I love these two!

Over and Out.
