There is nothing like a great big flop to start off your blogging career, right?
I saw a fun looking image on pinterest a while back for a pendant light made of thrifted doilies. Our local thrift shop has an abundance of doilies so I went to work collecting an assortment.
Next, I pasted my doilies with the wall paper paste onto an over-sized balloon.
Letting it dry overnight... It's looking good so far. I was getting excited about the possibilities at this point!
and the big flop....
The balloon stuck to the doilies and collapsed the structure when I deflated it.
Next time, I will let it dry a very long time- closer to a week, and maybe smear the balloon with some petroleum jelly. If that doesn't work I have been reading about using liquid starch and stitching them together. Try, try, again.

Cool blog sister in law! I love the crayon project.
ReplyDeleteHehe I love the thumbs up! I am totally going to remake my classroom clipboards into these beauties. Do you think they will take a beating?
