Crayon Art

This was a fun little project.
Not my idea, I'm just copying!  I first saw it here, and the idea is very simple.
You hot glue Crayola crayons to the top of a canvas, then take your hair dryer on high and melt away.

Leif sorting the colors

All glued on

Melting

This is where we left it when Leif was done (okay, so Leif only made it to the end of the reds before he was done, but anyway).

Of course Mom couldn't leave it that way, so after the kids went to bed I melted some more...

So FUN!

It is a little messy- the crayons spray a bit when you are melting them.  I also found that holding a scrap piece of wood up next to the edges helped the end crayons to melt better.  Another tip I read is that it's important to use Crayola crayons because the more generic brands melt clear.
I'm debating about adding lettering to the bottom or leaving it as is...hmmmm.
